If you experience or witness harassment in public, NSW has allocated $30 million to improve lighting and CCTV, while Victoria Police has introduced STOPIT. The service primarily receives reports of harassment or dangerous behaviour on public transport.

“This is Tencent Customer Service, notifying you that your WeChat account is about to be banned” and “Hi, Mum…” — beware of these two scams!
Verify Tencent calls threatening a WeChat ban or urgent messages claiming your child has changed numbers. Scammers may know your name, impersonate police or seek transfers; find the organisation’s contact details yourself or call your child’s original number to avoid readily handing over information and money.
