With limited Parent visa places and long queues, Australian permanent residents can apply for a Subclass 600 visa for their parents to visit temporarily, then consider a Subclass 870 visa allowing a three-to-five-year stay for family reunion. Applicants must be outside Australia when lodging the Subclass 870 application.

Hello, I'm Doris Dong. I graduated from the Australian National University with a Juris Doctor, and I specialise in migration law, family law and commercial arbitration.
I came to Australia on my own in 2018 to study, so I have first-hand experience with international student life and preparing for immigration. During my studies I also took part in the university's legal aid programs and handled a wide range of legal matters faced by international students and temporary visa holders in Australia. Those experiences sharpened my ability to manage cases with rigour and to dig deep into the relevant legislation. As a former international student myself, I understand your questions and concerns, and I will use my professional expertise to support you on your study and immigration journey. I hope that, through our shared effort, your dreams will come one step closer.
